R&D and QC Lab Chemist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Location: Auburn, Sydney NSW


About the Role:

CLEAN+ was founded in 1992 and is an Australian-owned and established brand in the cleaning chemicals manufacturing industry. We are a leading manufacturer of quality, value-added cleaning chemicals with a social conscience and a growing national presence (offices and warehousing in NSW, QLD & VIC). Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and self-motivated R&D and QC Chemist to join our Laboratory Team on a full-time basis.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new formulations for the cleaning chemical industry

  • Reformulate and improve existing formulas

  • Prepare lab-scale batches for development, sampling and testing

  • Write and review product specifications, master formulas and manufacturing instructions

  • Monitoring regulatory changes and interpreting updates that may impact product compliance

  • Liaising with third-party regulators such as Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA), Therapeutic Goods Australia (TGA), and supporting compliance with ISO 9001

  • Testing raw materials and finished products

  • Updating Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to be compliant with latest GHS and regulatory requirements 

  • Conduct standard lab tests including Specific Gravity (SG), pH measurements, viscosity checks as required  

  • Record and report results accurately

  • Maintain lab cleanliness, safety standards, inventory and documentation

  • Supporting the production line with data-driven insights

  • Assisting with audits and SOPs

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering will be advantageous

  • 3-5 years’ experience in R&D within chemical or related manufacturing

  • Comprehensive knowledge of chemical manufacturing R&D standards and compliance requirements

  • Strong lab safety and quality systems knowledge

  • Skilled in data analysis and technical reporting

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Organised, efficient and able to self-prioritise workload

  • Reliable and punctual – must be available to start at 6am daily and finish at 2pm


Must have your own car - our site is not accessible via public transport.   

Must be eligible to work in Australia with no visa restrictions.
